Chandigarh, April 28:
The Government agencies and private Traders have procured 658211 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on fourteenth day of procurement.
Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said that out of the total 658211 procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 655273 MT of wheat 2938 MT has been procured by the private traders (arhtias).
He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 157780 metric tonnes, MARKFED 152173 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 111308 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 106507 MT wheat respectively. The Centre government agancy FCI has procured 77877 MT wheat. Apart from this Pungrain Procured 49628 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.
Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 6165203 MT.
He further said today 5.22 LMT wheat lifted from the Mandies.
