8952 beneficiaries (Farmers) of Kargil District to get 7th installment under PM-KISAN

KARGIL DECEMBER 25, 2020: Prime Minister Narendra Modi led nationwide Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) programme was enthusiastically participated by beneficiaries (farmers) from Kargil-A and Kargil-B Zones besides other blocks across the district here today.

The speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was broadcast through video conferencing from the live PM-KISAN programmes held at Farmers’ Conference Hall Kurbathang Kargil and other locations during a series of functions organized by the Agriculture Department across the district here today.

The Chief Agriculture Officer Kargil Kacho Muhammad Ali Khan and State Nodal Officer PM-KISAN Muhammad Hussain Khan along with District Agriculture Officer Inputs Ashiq Hussain Basharat, District Agriculture Officer Extension Muhammad Iqbal, District Nodal Officer PM-KISAN Muhammad Issa, Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer Kargil Muhammad Hussain and other officers of Agriculture Department and allied departments also attended the programme along with the farmers.

A Mega Training/Awareness Camp was also organized by Agriculture Department Kargil on the occasion during which the officers of Agriculture Department and allied departments imparted training and awareness about the different Government schemes available for the farmers.

Meanwhile, the State Nodal Officer PM-KISAN Muhammad Hussain Khan informed that a total number of 8952 farmers from Kargil District were registered at PM-KISAN Portal and were benefiting from the scheme in the district.

Up to 6th installments were already credited in the bank accounts of the farmers through DBT and today on the eve of Birth anniversary of Former Prime Minister of India and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee along with Good Governance Day or Shushasan Diwas, the 7th installment in favor of the 8952 farmers from Kargil would also be released by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi directly in their bank accounts along with  nine crore beneficiary farmer families across the country today amounting to Rs 18 thousand crores, the Nodal Officer added.

The State Nodal Officer further informed the farmers about the progress of PM-KISAN in case of Ladakh UT and stressed them to register at the portal in case any beneficiary is left out.

Later, the Chief Agriculture Officer Kargil Kacho Muhammad Ali Khan informed the farmers that similar programmes were being held in different zonal headquarters today including the second coldest place Drass despite -23 degree Celsius, Padum Zanskar, Sankoo, Chiktan, Tai Suru and Shargole.
