PM Shri Modi appreciates CM Rise School

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan apprised Prime Minister Shri Modi about state’s Covid control, Covid vaccination, rainfall situation besides the progress of various welfare schemes. Giving information about the situation of Covid in Madhya Pradesh, Shri Chouhan informed that Corona infection is under control in the state and at present there are only 127 active cases. 88 percent people in the state have been given the first dose of Covid vaccine and 27 percent people have been given the second dose.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan apprised Prime Minister Shri Modi with CM Rise School Scheme. He told them that 350 schools are being opened in the state to provide quality education, which will be equipped with facilities like playground, library and laboratories and bus facility will be made available for students. Also, teachers will be selected from among the existing teachers on the basis of examination. Prime Minister Shri Modi praised this new academic experiment of Madhya Pradesh.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the year 2023 has been declared by the United Nations as the Year of Coarse Cereals, in preparation for which Madhya Pradesh is encouraging self-help groups producing nutritious coarse cereals like Kodo-Kutki. He also discussed that Madhya Pradesh would be made a model state by striking a balance between high and low production crops in the state in which crops with high export potential will be promoted. During a discussion on diversification of crops and commercial farming, Prime Minister Shri Modi suggested cultivation of sandalwood in the state, so that farmers can get more benefits.

During discussion about the state government’s ethanol policy, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan informed that 28 companies have applied for the production of ethanol in the state. Excess production of grain can be used to make ethanol. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan suggested that in place of forest land taken for development works, double revenue land has to be given, in place of which if the responsibility of planting three times more forests on degraded forests is given, then the forest area will increase.
