Chandigarh, October 11– Haryana Minister of State for Woman and Child Development, Smt. Kamlesh Dhanda, while congratulating the women of Haryana on the occasion of International Girl Child Day, said that the vision of women empowerment can be fulfilled only through the development of girl child. Women were empowered in the past and will always be empowered because a civilized society cannot be built without them.

Smt. Dhanda said that on the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, programmes for International Girl Child Day are being organized at various places in the state today, in which women doing excellent work in the society, whether they are social workers or sportspersons or officers and employees in the government sector are specially invited.
She said that on the occasion of Navratras, nine goddesses have also been associated with women, that is why we pray for a prosperous society by worshiping girls on Ashtami-Navami on the last day of Navratras.
