Chandigarh, March 2– Haryana, Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Kamlesh Dhanda said that the state government has formulated a plan to provide clean drinking water in 52 villages of Kalayat Vidhan Sabha at a cost of Rs 35 crore. The State Government aims to provide clean drinking water to 100 per cent households by December 2022 under the Jal Jeevan Mission.

A meeting in this regard was held today by the officers of the Department of Public Health Engineering Department of Kalayat Assembly Constituency to monitor the progress of Jal Jeevan Mission, an ambitious scheme of the Haryana government launched to provide tap water in every household.

 Minister of State Kamlesh Dhanda said the officers are working diligently so as to fulfill the ambitious plan of the Chief Minister, Manohar Lal, under Jal Jeevan Mission which aims to deliver 55 litres of water per person in every house in the Kalayat Vidhan Sabha.

Elaborating on it further he said that a proposal for the remaining 14 villages has been formulated, which will be approved soon and the water supply will be available in Kalayat Assembly. In the meeting, the Superintending Engineer of the Department in Kaithal, Ashok Kumar Khanduja, Executive Engineer Mahendra Singh Rana and the Departmental Team gave a PPT (power point presentation) of the Detailed Action Plan (DPR) approved for 52 villages out of 66 villages of Kalayat Vidhan Sabha. Sharing details he said that all the preparations to construct new water works, new boosting stations and laying a 40-km long pipeline to ensure tap water in every household have been made. He informed that the process of issuing tender in this regard will also be completed soon.

In the meeting, Minister of State Kamlesh Dhanda said that there should be no delay in the implementation of the plan at the grassroots level. She said that Chief Minister, Manohar Lal is monitoring the Jal Jeevan Mission through Dashboard so as to ensure that every village gets clean water. She said that this scheme will directly benefit thousands of families in Kalayat Vidhan Sabha and will resolve their water woes permanently.
