Kirpa Shanker Saroj conducts review meeting to monitor covid vaccination in district

The Special Chief Secretary in-charge covid-19 preparedness Mr Kirpa Shanker Saroj today reviewed the covid vaccination in Barnala during a special meeting convened here today.

He said that in order to keep themselves and their families safe from covid, people should take both the doses of covid vaccine. The government officers were directed to ensure that every person at grass root level was reached out and motivated to get vaccinated.

Officers were directed to get lists of people who have been vaccinated and those that are still to get the jab. These lists would enable easy accessibility of data as well as constant monitoring of those whose vaccination is pending.

Food and Civil Supplies Dept was directed to ensure that all workers and owners of brick kilns, fuel stations, gas agencies and public distribution system depot holders were vaccinated. Similarly, Municipal Councils were directed to ensure that residents of all housing societies took the shot in time. GM industries was directed to endure that all industrial houses get their workers and their families vaccinated.

Also rural development department was asked to ensure that proper liasioning is done with the village panchayats so that no eligible person is left without covid vaccine. All officers were directed to ensure cent per cent coverage of employees working in various departments.

Regional Transport Authority was directed to liasion with private bus operators, owners, drivers and other staff to ensure every eligible person got the jab. Department was also asked to ensure that private bus depots and agents were covered.

Speaking at the meeting Deputy Commissioner Barnala Mr Kumar Saurabh Raj said that in order to ensure greater participation of public in vaccination, daily review meeting is held in evening. He added that special data keeping has been devised to keep track on vaccination status of people.

SSP Barnala Mrs Alka Meena, ADC (G) Mr Amit Bamby, SDM Barnala Mr Varjeet Walia, SDM Tapa Mrs Simarpreet Kaur and heads of all departments were present.
