5 Tips to prevent bad back posture

CHANDIGARH

Muscle and bone health, your risk of injury, and even basic bodily processes like digestion and breathing can all be negatively impacted by poor posture. On the other hand, paying attention to your posture while standing or sitting eases reduces persistent pain that gets worse with time—longer periods of sitting while working or binge-watching television could lead to posture problems.

Our feet are rooted to the ground because of gravity. But in order to prevent us from falling on our faces, our postural muscles struggle against this gravity. Our extensors’ natural tone prevents ligaments and joints from misaligning and maintains the upright posture of our torsos. But spending a lot of time slouching at your desk, sitting cross-legged, and binge-watching Netflix web series harms our muscles and increases the risk of spinal wear and tear, which can lead to chronic discomfort.

Avoid being a hunch
It strains your spine and restricts internal organs like the lungs and intestines, making it challenging to properly breathe or digest food.

Wear “flats” for your back

While wearing high heels may be in style, wearing low, flat shoes on a regular basis will spare your joints and ligaments the stress. Stilettos should only be worn on that one special evening since they can change the shape of your spine.

Exercise, relax, and move around

Losing abdominal fat, maintaining a daily exercise routine that includes stretches and consistent joint conditioning activities will keep your body in shape. Tai chi and swimming are low-impact exercises that increase mobility and reduce joint issues.

Avoid slouching at your desk:
Although it is pleasant, slouching is bad for your posture. The best position for working is straight up in a curved office chair, with a little towel rolled up behind the back or a cushion, knees and hips at the same height, and feet flat on the floor.

Exhale deeply
Get your chin up. Imagine yourself leaning against the wall, chin tucked in, head up, shoulders back, and knees straight. You’ll look and feel better than ever.
