When the thermal energy from your body’s metabolic processes produces heat, yoga naturally lowers your body temperature. However, occasionally, because of extreme heat and dampness outside and insufficient water intake, your body may heat up to uncomfortable levels that require attention. Experts claim that you can cool down and reduce body temperature by doing specific yoga poses.
Practice yoga every day in humid weather by incorporating the following poses:
1. Sun Salutations, or Surya Namaskar: The series of postures promotes flexibility, circulation, and body warming. As you practice the poses, your limbs become symmetrical, which improves the function of your internal organs. In humid conditions, the regular breathing and motions can be very energizing. Regular practice deepens the connection between the body, breath, and consciousness through raising awareness.
2. Triangle position, or Trikonasana: This position expands the chest and facilitates better breathing, which can be refreshing in humid weather. Standing poses increase stability and balance while also helping to stretch the sides of your body.
3. Shalabhasana, also known as locust pose: This position is beneficial in humid weather because it works the back muscles, which strengthen the lower back, enhance posture, and offer stability and support.
4. Bhujangasana, also known as the Cobra Pose, expands the chest and stretches the front of the body. It can help with deep breathing and lung expansion, especially in humid weather.
5. Viparita Karani, also known as the Legs on the Wall Pose, is a restorative pose that helps lower leg swelling and induce calmness. It’s a terrific way to decompress and cool down in humid weather.
6. Child’s Pose, or Balasana: This mild resting position has many calming benefits. You may extend your hips and back while also cooling down and being more relaxed.
