Rs.1.30 crore to be spent on procurement of ventilators
KUPWARA, MAY 05: The Chairman, District Development Council (DDC), Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Panditpuri today chaired a meeting of Council members and reviewed the measures to be taken up by the Council for mitigating the ongoing Covid-19 crisis.
Vice Chairman, DDC, Kupwara Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir was also present in the meeting.
A threadbare discussion was held in the meeting regarding the utilization of the Council funds for various developmental activities in the district.
It was given out in the meeting that the Council will prioritize its spending on Covid management keeping in view the current demanding health situation.
It was also given out in the meeting that out of the allotted council budget of Rs.10 crore, Rs.1.30 crore will be specially utilized in procuring ventilators and allied machinery for both Sub District Covid Hospital Kupwara and District Hospital Handwara to supplement the Covid health care equipment.
On the occasion, the Chairman DDC stressed upon all the members to gear up their efforts for mitigating the situation arising due to global Covid-19 pandemic. He said that the main focus of the Council is currently the healthcare system which is a priority sector for which the council will spend its major portion of the budget.
