DDC Kupwara chairs DLTC to finalize scale of Finance for agriculture, other sectors

KUPWARA, JANUARY 10, 2024

A meeting of District Level Technical Committee (DLTC) was today held under the chairmanship of the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan to finalise the scale of finance for the year 2024-25 for Agriculture, Horticulture, Floriculture, Fisheries, Animal and Sheep Husbandry at DC Office, here.

On the occasion, DDC sought detailed feedback from the officers regarding the costs of inputs involved for growing different crops.

The DDC directed the officers to ensure maximum coverage of the farmer under these schemes

The meeting held threadbare discussion to determine and fix the Scale of Finance for providing short term loans to the farmers in the shape of Working Capital for various field crops. Discussion was also held regarding the costs involved in various sub items such as fodder, fertilizer, pesticides, labour and manure etc for growing the crops and maintenance of dairy animals.

It was informed that the rates finalized by the Committee will be forwarded to the State Level Technical Committee. It was also informed that the rates approved in Scale of Finance serves as a tool for arriving at the Potential Credit Plan of the district.

The meeting was attended by LDM, Nodal Officer BCC Bank, Officers from Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sericulture, Floriculture, Fisheries; and officials of all the banks operating in the District.

Later, the DDC chaired a separate meeting of concerned officers to review the progress of HADP under the Animal Husbandry Sector.

During the meeting, the DDC stressed upon the Chief Animal Husbandry Officer for maximum coverage of the beneficiaries under the HADP scheme. She also directed the concerned to intensify awareness campaigns about the scheme among the farmers and unemployed educated youth so that they can be benefitted at large.
