CM Haryana accords approval to start DM Cardiac Anaesthesiology Course with 2 seats at PGIMS, Rohtak
Chandigarh August 14, 2020: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has accorded approval to start DM Cardiac Anaesthesiology Course with 2 seats at Pt. B. D. Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), Rohtak for the academic session 2021-22. At present, there is no DM Cardiac Anaesthesiology Course available in the State.
While giving this information here today, a spokesman of the Medical Education and Research Department said that the course would be in accordance with the norms of the Medical Council of India and help to bridge the gap between requirement and availability of super specialty services in the State.
He said that the Anaesthesiology Department of PGIMS, Rohtak has already 56 sanctioned posts of Senior Residents. Out of these posts, 6 posts of Senior Residents would be utilized for running the DM Cardiac Anesthesiology Course. He said that this being a Superspeciality Course, now a specialist doctor (MD Anaesthesia) who wished to do this course would not be required to go outside the state, to attain the degree in DM Cardiac Anaesthesia. Apart from this, with the start of this degree program, more doctors would be trained in this Superspeciality in the State, he added.
The spokesman said that Pt. B. D. Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak is the apex teaching medical institute of Haryana affiliated to Pt. B.D Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak. The institute is running undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various disciplines. He said that super specialty courses namely DM/M.Ch are being conducted in various subjects following the permission by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India and Medical Council of India.
