ADC, Dr. Nidhi Kumudh launches NABARD Potential Linked Plan 2023-24 of  7322.02 Crore for Gurdaspur District

Gurdwspur, November 11 –

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Nidhi Kumudh Bambha launched Potential Linked Credit Plan (PLP) 2023-24 document prepared by NABARD for total outlay `7322.02  Crore for Gurdaspur district. The PLP was launched at District Consultative Committee at Gurdaspur. This PLP document covers the potential credit areas for the year 2023-24 under the Priority sector.

Additional Deputy Commissioner stressed on diversification of lending portfolio by the banks in order to promote new avenues in farming and allied sectors. The bankers were advised to pass on the benefits of various schemes of GoI and GoP to the beneficiaries.  Bankers were guided to focus on MSME sector and promote new entrepreneurs under various Government schemes as it plays crucial role in welfare of the district.

NABARD District Development Manager Shri Jaskirat Singh informed that agriculture credit should  increase  under  investment  credit  so  that  capital  formation  in agriculture sector can take place. Various schemes of the government need to be implemented by banks in order to increase investment credit.The informal credit delivery sector offers a wide area of opportunity for the banks and has become an important portfolio in the district.

Taking into account the above factors, the total projections of   the   PLP  for  the  year  2023-24 have   been  estimated  at  Rs 7322.02 Crore inclusive of  Rs  5245.59 Crore for Agriculture Sector, Rs 1293.45 Crore for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, `217.60 Crore for Export Credit, 120.60 Crore for Education, 233.28Crore for Housing, 11 Crore for Renewable Energy,    106 Crore  for Others (SHG/JLG/Small Loans) and 93.72 Crore for Social Infrastructure.

LDO Shri Sanjeev Singh, LDM Shri Kewal Kalsi and District Officials of all banks and line departments were present at the launch.
