ADC reviews performance under Panchayat Development Index

Asks BDPOs to ensure audit of panchayats by Feb end, took stock of libraries’ construction in villages

Ludhiana, February 19

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Anmol Singh Dhaliwal on Monday carried out a review meeting of the performance made under the Panchayat Development Index in the district.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner (UT) Krishna Pal Rajput, DDPO besides officials of Rural Development and Panchayat, Health, Education, Revenue, CDPO, Water Supply, Food, Civil and Supplies, Soil and Water Conservation, Agriculture and other concerned also attended the meeting.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner emphasised early uploading of all 941 village Panchayats under PDI, which evaluates the performance of Panchayats based on various development parameters. He directed officials to expedite officials to address any bottlenecks hindering progress and performance. He also stressed close coordination among different stakeholders to ensure timely updation of all indicators on the PDI portal of the district.

Dhaliwal also directed the officials of rural development and panchayats to ensure completion of the audit of the panchayats by the end of this month. He also took stock of the registration of sarpanchs under the PM Vishwakarma scheme as they have to verify all the applicants following which the list of applications will be scrutinized by the district-level committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner. He also directed them to speedy construction of libraries in the district.

The ADC also held detailed deliberations on the various development works underway in the district and asked the officials to ensure time-bound completion. He also asked them to immediately send the estimates of the school-related works including boundary wall, kitchen sheds, anganwari, etc.
