Ludhiana, September 16 2021 The district administration has sought applications from city-based NGOs or social organizations to run three National Child Labour Project (NCLP) schools.
Disclosing further details, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development)-cum- NCLP Program Project Director Amit Kumar Panchal said that NCLP schools aim at rehabilitation of child labour. He said that children working in hazardous occupations are withdrawn from these occupations and they are admitted into these NCLP schools to enable and mainstream them into the formal schooling system.

He said that Ludhiana has 32 NCLP schools and 1,500 children study in them. He said that three schools (number-1, 20 and 37) are being run by his office at present and are to be handed over to any NGOs or social organizations.
Panchal said that interested NGOs or social organizations to run these three schools can visit his office and submit written applications. He said that September 27, 2021, is the last date of applying.
Additional Deputy Commissioner also said that incomplete applications or applications received after the due date would not be entertained. He said that more information can be checked at Ludhiana.nic.in.
