Adventure-sports will be started in hilly areas of Morni, Kalesar, Dhosi, Aravalli and Mewat

Chief Minister announced this at the Closing Ceremony of ‘Youthpreneur’ Training Programme

Chandigarh, January 23 – Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal today, as part of the of 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations and 125th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose announced that 1,000 youth of the State would be imparted training in adventure sports every year by the State Government so as to enable them to get employment.

Besides this, adventure-sports will also be started in the hills of Kalesar, Dhosi, Aravalli and Mewat, where three to five ‘adventure-sports camps’ will be organised every year other than such camps being organised in Morni, Panchkula. An amount of Rs 2 crore will be spent every year on training in the above camps.

The Chief Minister was addressing the youth as the Chief Guest at the Closing Ceremony of the Training Programme named ‘Youthpreneur’ under the ‘Milkha Singh Adventure Sports Club’ organised by the Sports and Youth Affairs Department of Haryana here today. In this training programme, youth falling between the age group of 16 to 29 years of Morni area were trained about entrepreneurship related to ‘Adventure-Sports and Home-Stay’.

On this occasion, Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sh. Sandeep Singh was present as a special guest, while other guests included, MP Sh. Rattan Lal Kataria, Principal Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs, Sh. Yogender Chaudhry, Chairman of Youth Commission, Sh. Mukesh Gaur and Director of the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Sh. Pankaj Nain.

While congratulating and wishing the youth on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, the Chief Minister talked about Netaji’s indelible contribution to the freedom movement and called upon the youth to follow the path of patriotism shown by him.

Citing example of Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Buddha, Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh and other great personalities, Sh Manohar Lal said that youth is energetic, thus, if this energy is chanellised in the right direction, then the nation will surely be on the path of progress.

While exhorting the youth to be job-givers instead of job-seekers, he said that the Haryana Government is striving for the upliftment of the poorest of the poor with the spirit of Antyodaya. He said that this will be done by organizing Antyodaya Rozgar Melas, the State is making the poor aware about the facility of loans etc. and various ways to self-employ, including starting poultry farm, fish farming, animal husbandry etc. so that their income can be enhanced. He apprised the youth about the work being done by the State Government in the field of religious tourism and cultural tourism, besides adventure sports.

Many youth of Morni area shared their experiences of training acquired in the ‘Youthpreneur’ training programme with the Chief Minister. These youths praised the ‘Adventure-Sports and Home-Stay’ programme launched by the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal and described it as an important step in the interest of youth.

Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sh. Sandeep Singh said that it is the visionary thinking of the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal that led to the commencement of the ‘Adventure-Sports and Home-Stay’ programme. He elaborated that apart from this, the programme will become a source of employment as well as entertainment for the youth.  Instead of pursuing shortcuts to progress, he emphasised upon the youth to work hard with determination so that there is stability in life.  He described the Sports Policy of Haryana as exemplary and said that senior officers of other states are also enquiring about it.

The Principal Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs, Sh. Yogender Choudhry described the ‘Adventure-Sports and Home-Stay’ programme as part of the ideology of Antyodaya as envisaged by the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal and said that this type of training would provide employment to the youth of hilly areas like Morni and will be empower them.

Welcoming the Chief Minister, Sports Minister and other guests, Director of Sports and Youth Affairs,  Sh. Pankaj Nain gave detailed information about the ‘Adventure-Sports and Home-Stay’ training-camp for the youth of Morni region and expressed hope that this way  Haryana will become a hub of adventure sports like other sports.

On this occasion, the country’s well-known NGO ‘Home-Stay of India’, youth of Morni region, Gaurav, Nikhil and Kanika were also given an offer-letter of entrepreneurs.

Programme Officer Ram Kumar, Trainer, Shravan Singh, Om Prakash Kadian, Vinod Verma, Shailja Gupta, Prem Chautala and Sandeep Kumar made special contributions during the training camp.

REThe great sacrifice of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose for the independence of the country will be remembered forever.
