Bring new educational reforms with innovative ideas

Education Minister attends division level workshop of ‘Pravesh Utsav’ organized in Panchkula

Chandigarh, April 20 – Haryana Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal said that along with shaping up the future of the students, teachers are also playing a pivotal role in Nation building. The students are outshining in every field, hence making their teachers and the country proud, he added.

The Education Minister said this while speaking at the divisional level workshop of the ‘Pravesh Utsav’ organized at Indradhanush Auditorium in Panchkula on Wednesday.

The Minister said that about 4.5 lakh students were enrolled in government schools last year. It is the endeavour of the State Government that this year also the number of students in schools will be more than last year.  He said that it is very important for a teacher to have a leadership spirit so that they can bring good changes in the school by connecting with different sections of the society.

While appealing to the parents and the local people associated with the school, the Education Minister said that they should remain in constant touch with the school management, so that the necessary reforms in the education system can be brought with innovative ideas and suggestions given by them.

Earlier, Sh. Kanwar Pal also visited the science exhibition organized by the children of different schools.

The Education Minister directed the District Education Officer, District Elementary Education Officer, Block Education Officer, Block Elementary Education Officer and School Principal, who attended programme to interact with the students who have taken admission to government schools instead of private schools.

He suggested that after interacting with such students maximum publicity of the reasons as to why they chose government schools over private should be shared among the common people through various social media and other communication mediums as this will play an important role in changing the public perception about government schools and more and more students will get enrolled in government schools in future.

Teachers should ensure MIS Portal works properly

The Education Minister directed all the officers concerned and teachers to ensure that the Management Information System (MIS) portal should work properly. Besides this, updation of student records on this portal should also be ensured so that students do not face any problem related to books or any other data in the future.

Teachers should formulate a strategy for ensuring maximum enrollment in government schools

Sh. Kanwar Pal said that teachers should formulate a strategy of ensuring maximum enrollment in government schools as even this fulfills the purpose of organizing ‘Pravesh Utsav’ in the true sense. For this task, teachers, principals and other officers of the education department should conduct awareness campaigns by doing surveys, organizing rallies, designing posters, pamphlets, and advertisements and can take help from Gram Panchayat.

Today, the present State Government is providing quality education in government schools. Teachers should track every child through a survey. The schooling status of every child should be checked by conducting a door-to-door survey and this survey data should be matched with the Anganwadi and birth registration data in rural and urban areas, so as to ensure that no child should be deprived of education.

Inspiration should be taken from those who reform government schools

We should take inspiration from those schools in which work is being done to increase the number of students in the government schools in the state, said the Education Minister.

He also honoured four Panchayats of Fatehabad district and two Panchayats of Jhajjar district. The number of students in the government schools of these Panchayats was very less.

The Gram Panchayat and the villagers, along with the government, brought reforms in the schools and encouraged the villagers for getting the students enrolled in the government school. Due to this, the number of students in the government schools of these gram Panchayats increased. Today, the government schools in Haryana need to take inspiration from them.
