NSS volunteers of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Sector 36-A, Chandigarh, along with the officials of the Health and Family Welfare Department, UT Chandigarh interacted with the residents of Badheri as a part of the ‘Anti Dengue Awareness Programme’. The volunteers organised an awareness rally raising slogans encouraging the residents to opt for a healthy lifestyle. Further, they interacted with residents and went door to door creating awareness regarding the breeding of mosquitoes and taking preventive measures to avoid dengue. The officials of the Health and Welfare Department appreciated the efforts of the college and expressed gratitude to the college for supporting the noble cause. Dr. Nisha Bhargava applauded the efforts of the NSS volunteers and said that prevention is better than cure and that the risk of the spread of mosquito-borne diseases can be minimized by taking preventive measures.
