BJP, Congress and Badals equally responsible for sacrifice of 700 farmers and laborers in farmers’ struggle
People will never forgive Modi, Badals, Captain and Congress for black laws: AAP

Chandigarh, November 21 2021

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab senior leader and Leader of Opposition, Harpal Singh Cheema said that the Badal family’s double policy will be written in black letters on the golden pages of the historical farmers’ movement and the people of the country will never forget the fatal role played by the then Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal to enact the Union black agriculture Laws.

In a statement issued from the party headquarters here on Sunday, Harpal Singh Cheema said that the BJP (Modi) as well as the Badals, then Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, Finance Minister Manpreet Badal along with the entire Punjab Cabinet (which also includes the current Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi), are equally responsible for imposing black agricultural laws despite opposition from farmer-labourers, farmer organizations and scholars; who did not even fulfill their assigned responsibility for the chair.

But today all of them are busy patting their backs on the rise of the farmers’ struggle, the pressure of the people and the historic victory of the farmers’ movement. Cheema said that the Aam Aadmi Party has been opposing the black agricultural laws since the time when the central government was busy preparing their blueprint. In contrast, Harsimrat Kaur Badal issued death warrants of ‘annadatas’ by signing the ordinances for the fatal agricultural laws and then the entire family campaigned in favor of the three black laws for more than months, to keep the chair in the Modi cabinet.

After the people of Punjab started putting up boards to block the entry of the Badal family and all the big and small leaders of the Akali Dal Badal, Harsimrat Kaur Badal had to give up her chair to save the political ground that had slipped away, he added.
