The Prime Minister’s crop insurance claim amount distribution programme in Betul brought happiness to farmers whose crops were damaged due to yellow mosaic insect disease and untimely rains last year. One of these farmers, Chironjilal Nagle’s happiness doubled when Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan gave him a certificate of crop insurance claim amount after calling him on stage. The claim amount of Rs 2.78 lakh has been transferred to his account.

A visibly happy Chironjilal says that earlier he would get hardly a few hundreds or thousand rupees in crop insurance. Now, under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s government, farmers are getting lakhs of rupees in crop insurance, which is very commendable. Farmer Shri Saimu Chavre, resident of Machchi village of Bhainsdehi block of Betul district is very happy as he received the claim amount of Rs 72 thousand 96 under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. When Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan gave the certificate of transfer of crop insurance amount to Saimu in a programme organized in Betul on Saturday, his joy knew no bounds.

Saimu says that last year the soybean crop in his 10-acre area was damaged due to yellow mosaic insect disease. Saimu was worried as to how he would prepare for the next crop, how to take care of the family and how he would be able to educate his children. Saimu was thinking of taking a loan for the next crop, when Rs 72 thousand of crop insurance were deposited in his account. Now Saimu and his family are very happy. Chironjilal’s happiness knows no bounds after getting Rs 2.78 lakh of crop insurance.

The insurance claim amount of Rs.2 lakh has also been deposited in the account of Shri Saurabh Bagde, a resident of Athner. Saurabh had suffered a lot due to the failure of soybean crop in a total area of 9 hectares. His sorrows and despair have come to an end after he received the sum insured.

Apart from this, Shri Madra Varkade, resident of Khokra village of Shahpur tehsil got crop insurance amount of Rs 23 thousand 568 and Shri Dashrath Ughde of Atari village of Chicholi development block got Rs 67 thousand 816. Similarly Rs. 37 thousand to Shri Ramu Dhurve, Rs 3 lakh 40 thousand to Amit Jitpure, around Rs two lakh to Shri Bhimrao Bagde, Rs 2 lakh 16 thousand to Shri Daulat Dahare, Rs 1 lakh 95 thousand to Shri Banshilal Khakre and Rs 1 lakh 79 thousand to Bansnerkalan resident Shri Ram. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan handed over the letter and deposited the amount in his account.

An amount of Rs. 3 lakh 40 thousand 164 was transferred by the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan to the account of Shri Bhaiyalal Jaitpure, a farmer of Athner block of Betul district under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. His 60 percent soybean crop spread on 50 acres of land was destroyed due to pest infestation. Under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, crop insurance of 17.30 hectares of land proved to be very helpful for them. Due to this, his 24 hour hard work and crop loss was compensated. Shri Jaitpure cannot but continue to thank Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
