Pondering over an idea, creating a thread of words and then jotting it down on a piece of paper is all what one needs to reach anywhere, at any time and being with the world during this pandemic was the remarkable statement of Deputy Commissioner, Shri Varinder Kumar Sharma. Encouraging, motivating and supporting the young and emerging talent has always been the motto and trend of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana.

Today, Post Graduate department of English under the aegis of Gujranwala Khalsa Education Council, Ludhiana organised a book release ceremony of the book Emerging Young Writers which is based on research papers writtern by different scholars to motivate the young minds Sukhmani Brar, Pratibha Sharma, Baruni Arora, Sehajal Sharma, Oshin Sangha for creating books entitled, Lost in the Night Sky, Summer Enigma, Your Soulmate is You, Just Keep Going, respectively. The event was started by Dr. Sushmimdarjeet Kaur, Associate Professor and Head, P. G. Department of English by sharing the purpose of the event. Dr. S. P. Singh, worthy President, Gujranwala Khalsa Education Council and former Vice Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar appreciated the endeavours of P. G. Department of English for being thoughtful of organising an event to provide a platform to young  minds to show their talent and also share their wonderful and laborious journey of creating their books. He mentioned that Prof. Gurbhajan Gill is an alumnus of this Institute and has always brought laurels to the college by writing books of fiction and poetry.

The event progressed with an observation of the book by Prof. Amarjit Kaur Pannu (California), the author of ‘Splintered Water’ by delineating on the matured writing of all the writers. She, talking about the book Emerging Young Writers exclaimed that while reading the book she became one with the book as she read each paper it took her to the writer’s perception and then to the mystic world. The book is replete with various images, symbols and metaphors which help to highlight the creativity of young minds and making the reader one with peace and perfection.
Paramjit Singh Ramana ,The author of ‘Two Lives of a Man’ also explained and analysed the books by stating that the children have emerged stronger from the era of pandemic. He mentioned that it was from much matured mind to say that intimacy is not necessarily the physical one it could be sharing oneself without losing oneself.

Prof. Gurbhajan Gill talked about the role, importance and significance of research for having a progressive personality. He emphasised on efforts made by Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College to always promote research and give plan of action to others so that everyone with talent of writing may come up with beautiful creation.

The event culminated with a warm and heartfelt gratitude to all the dignitaries by the college principal, Dr. Arvinder Singh Bhalla. He acknowledged and appreciated the commendable job done by the Post Graduate department of English by organising an event to promote creative writing along with promoting the young minds so that the youth get some inspiration from the writers and dream big, aim big and work hard to realise their dreams.

The event was moderated by Dr. Mandeep Kaur, an afficient and competent teacher. It was  witnessed by Dr. Gunmeet Kaur, Principal, Gujranwala Public School, and also by all the worthy faculty members of the college.
