Chandigarh, September 6 : Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar conducted the entrance exam for various Postgraduate programmes today. As many as 601 candidates appeared for the entrance examination, while 300 candidates remained absent.
The University will be conducting the examinations in four phases. The first phase of which has started from September 6, 2020.
Giving this information, University Registrar, Dr. B.R. Kamboj said that the examination for admission to Postgraduate programmes is being conducted as per the instructions issued by the Central and State Governments amid COVID-19 Pandemic.
He informed that all the examination centres were sanitized before conducting the examination and special attention has also been taken regard social distancing norms and wearing of masks.
Besides this, the University Administration also provided water bottles and face masks to all the candidates after sanitizing their hands at the entrance of examination centre.
The exam was conducted from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm in the afternoon. He said that a total of 3448 students had applied online for these examinations, including Postgraduate and PhD courses.
Keeping in view the number of students and the guidelines issued by Central and State Governments, four examination centres were set up to conduct these examinations, which include Agricultural College, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Indira Chakravarty College of Home Science and College of Basic Sciences and Humanities.
He said that in these four centres, 42 rooms, including halls, were earmarked so that social distances and sanitation could be fully maintained.
In a bid to ensure peaceful conduct of these examinations, duties of about 180 teachers and non-tecahing staff were assigned by the University.
University Vice Chancellor Professor Samar Singh and Registrar Dr. BR Kamboj visited the examination centres and took stock of all exam related preparations.
He informed that the University had decided to conduct the exam on September 6, September 9, September 12 and September 16, the first phase of which has started from September 6,2020.
He further appealed to the candidates and their parents to keep a check on the university’s website admissions.hau.ac.in and hau.ac.in for latest information related to admission in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
