Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has expressed grief over the sad demise of Milkha Singh popularly known as ‘the Flying Sikh’, who passed away at PGI Chandigarh today morning. He was 91.
Jai Ram Thakur said that Milkha Singh won many Asian gold medals and finished fourth in the 400m final at the 1960 Rome Olympics. He said that his passion for athletic and fitness would remain source of inspiration for not only young generation but also for the people of all age groups.
Chief Minister prayed the Almighty to give peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family members to bear this irreparable loss.
