Chandigarh, June 22 :- In view of providing better medical services to the people of Haryana, the State Government has decided to establish one medical college in every district of Haryana by 2025.
Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal informed this while presiding over a meeting of the Committee of Secretaries, Medical Education and Research Department (COSMER) regarding the construction and finalizing the procurement of equipment for the Government Medical Colleges which are being established in the state.
The Chief Secretary said that the construction work of medical college being established at Koriyawas, Narnaul will be completed by December this year whereas the construction work of medical colleges at Jind, Karnal will be completed in nine months and medical college at Bhiwani will be completed by September, 2023. He said that the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal is continuously reviewing this project which is to be completed in a time bound manner.
To impart advanced medical educational facilities to medical students, the Chief Secretary has further directed the officers to expedite the process of floating tenders regarding installation and maintenance of medical equipment in the medical colleges. He said that the process of hiring agencies will be done through Central Public Sector Undertaking.
To expedite the work, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal also directed concerned officers to enter into the partnership with Swarna Jayanti Haryana Institute for Fiscal Management as a knowledge partner to assist and build up capacity for future equipment management in all the government medical colleges and hospitals across the state.
