Chandigarh, April 19 – Haryana Health Minister, Anil Vij said that COVID-19 test will be conducted for patients going to private and government hospitals with symptoms like cough, cold, sore throat or fever to ensure proper treatment is given to them. Along with this, in view of the ongoing surge in COVID-19 cases surgery in Civil Hospitals has been discontinued.

The Health Minister said this today while presiding over the meeting of the State Level Covid Monitoring Committee. Besides this, all the devotees returning from Kumbh Mela will be tested for corona at the entry points of Haryana so that the people suffering from the corona can be treated separately. He further said that the Health Department will take initiative to conduct corona tests and to administer corona vaccine to farmers sitting on dharna on Haryana border. For this, first talks will be held with the farmers’ leaders. Along with this, the Urban Local Bodies Department has been given the responsibility of sanitizing all the cities in the state and the Panchayat Department in all the villages.

The Health Minister further directed the Director General of Police and other officers that as per COVID-19 rules issued by the government, a ban on the fairs organized in the state should be ensured by the Police till further orders. Also, the police should ensure that for all religious, political, social and family functions, indoor gathering of not more 50 persons is allowed and outdoor gathering of not more than 200 persons is allowed. Along with this, people should wear mask, maintain distance and a Corona Curfew should be strictly imposed at night from 10 pm to 5 am. For this, Monitoring Committees will be constituted at the district level. He said that no lockdown will be imposed in the state, so the working class does not need to go anywhere.

The Health Minister said that for the care of critical patients of Corona, instructions have been given to create ‘Critical Corona Care Centres’ in all the government medical colleges of the state. Along with this, the management of the doctors of AYUSH Department has been given to the Civil Surgeons of the respective districts so that the corona patients can be looked after properly. A home isolation kit is being prepared by the Department, which will contain medicines, plus oximeter, corona prevention literature and other necessary materials. With the help of these Ayush kits, doctors will go door to door to check and treat corona patients. Presently in the state there are 45,086 quarantine beds, 11,549 isolation beds of which about 89 per cent are vacant, of the 2,131 ICU beds 58 per cent are vacant, of the 1,079 ventilators about 63 per cent are vacant. He said that there are about 42,000 corona infected cases at present in the state, of which about 30,000 are in Home Isolation.

Vij said that there is no shortage of Oxygen and Remedisvir in the state and Remedesivir is being supplied in sufficient quantity in all the hospitals of the state. He said that 270 MT of oxygen is available in the state, while the state is consuming 60 MT.

Along with this, the police and Drug Controller Administration ordered to monitor all the oxygen plants in the state so that there is no black marketing of any kind.

During this period the Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, DS Dhesi said that there should be emphasis to keep a close vigil on the rising cases in the NCR region. Chief Secretary Vijai Vardhan said that District Officers should be kept in touch on issued related to Corona for which a decision will be taken soon. Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department and Member Secretary of the Committee, Rajeev Arora said that the directions issued by the Minister will be adhered to in a timely manner and it will be ensured that there is no negligence.

On this occasion Additional Chief Secretary Disaster Management Sanjeev Kaushal, Additional Chief Secretary Labour Department, V.S. Kundu, Additional Chief Secretary Medical Education and Research Department, Alok Nigam, Director General of Police, Manoj Yadava, Principal Secretary of Industries and Commerce, Vijayendra Kumar, Ayushman CEO of India, Amneet P Kumar, Director General of Information, Public Relations and Languages, Dr. Amit Agarwal, Managing Director of HMSCL, Saket Kumar, MD NHM Haryana Prabhjot Singh, Director of Medical Education Department, Dr. Shaleen, Director General of Health, Dr. Veena Singh and State Drug Controller, Narendra Ahuja and many senior officials were present.
