Stress on 100 per cent testing, age appropriate vaccination
POONCH, MAY 22, 2021: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet conducted a whirlwind tour of the Mandi and Loran area to take on the spot review of the cover control measures like vaccination, Covid testing and covid care centres established at the Panchayat level.
The Deputy Commissioner sought information from the officials regarding the status of vaccination and the Sampling in the area.
The DC directed the Health officers to take all care in collecting the samples for RT-PCR and Rapid Antigen Test to identify the positive case which shall help to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection in the district by isolating the positive cases. He also made them aware that special 5 bedded Covid care centres have been established at the Panchayat level to locally isolate the covid Positive patients.
While taking stock of the Vaccination drive, he impressed upon the Health Officials that there is a need to eradicate the myths and disbelief about the vaccination by creating the house to the house awareness drive.
“The vaccination is the only way forward to achieve herd immunity; and to achieve the target of hundred per cent vaccination of targeted age groups, the Deputy Commissioner advised them to rope in religious leaders, PRI’s, for generating mass awareness.
He also advised ensuring adequate physical distancing at vaccination centres.
He also stressed ensuring that all covid 19 appropriate behaviours are being followed so that the spread of the infection can be prevented.
The Deputy Commissioner also inspected 05 Rural Covid care centres and also interacted with the Sarpanchs and Panchs of different panchayats. The Deputy Commissioner sought their cooperation in the fight against the invisible enemy.
Moreover, the Deputy Commissioner also inspected several developmental projects in the area like tourist facilities at Loran.He also inspected the progress on Blacktopping of Chandak Mandi Road and directed the concerned Officers to maintain the quality of the work and complete the work within time.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by CEO Poonch Development Authority, Dr Mohd Tanvir and Officials of the RDD Department.
