DC Rajouri interacts with religious Heads on virtual mode

Seeks cooperation to ensure covid appropriate behavior
RAJOURI, MAY 12, 2021: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today held an interactive meeting with prominent religious leaders of the district through virtual mode ahead of the Eid-ul Fitr.
The DC informed them that the District Administration Rajouri is taking all possible measures to mitigate the pandemic in the district. However, he said the upsurge in the number of cases needs to redouble the efforts and sought the active cooperation of the religious leaders in this regard.
He sought the cooperation of religious leaders in enforcement of covid appropriate behavior during the festival including maintaining social distancing, avoiding large gatherings and congregations.
The DC said the religious leaders and heads   have a key role during the fresh wave of Covid-19 as they are the role models for the common masses and the people will follow their footsteps.
He appealed to them to motivate people to go for vaccination and to follow SOPs in this fight against deadly virus.
During the interaction, it was unanimously decided that no congregational prayers shall be held in Eidgahs and instead Eid Prayers shall be held at local mosques amid strict covid-19 guidelines of social distancing.
The religious leaders assured full support to the administration in this regard.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Sheema Qasba Nabi also interacted with the religious leaders and sought their active cooperation with the police and the civil administration in the fight against the COVID19 pandemic.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh; District Informatics Officer, Muzaffar Mir and Engineer NIC, Vatan Kant were also present on the occasion.
