DGP Haryana to pay tributes to police martyrs

Chandigarh, October 20 : Director General of Police (DGP) Haryana, Sh. P.K. Agrawal, on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day-2021, will pay homage to martyred police personnel in a state level function to be organized at Police Lines, Moginand in Panchkula on October 21.

Giving this information here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that all ranks of Haryana Police, besides family members of brave hearts will also be present on this occasion.

In the last one year, as many as 377 police personnel from other states police/Central Armed Police Forces and one from Haryana Police attained martyrdom in the line of duty across the country. So far, over 35000 police personnel have sacrificed their lives to maintain law and order, peace and security in the country, he added.

Observed on October 21 every year, the Police Commemoration Day remembers the sacrifices of 10 policemen who died in Chinese firing in 1959 at ‘Hot Springs’ at Ladakh.
