Today Munish Singal, District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Ludhiana, Varinder Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana, Harsimranjit Singh, Civil Judge (Senior Division), Prabhjot Singh Kaleka, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Ludhiana, Sumit Makkar, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ludhiana, Dr Kiran Ahluwalia, Civil Surgeon, Ludhiana visited the Central Jail, Ludhiana to hear the grievances of inmates and to check the medical facilities and living conditions of the inmates.
The District and Sessions Judge, Ludhiana issued appropriate directions to the quarter concerned to resolve the complaints of inmates immediately.
Further directions were issued to the Jail Authorities to adhere to the SOP issued to check the spread of Corona Virus. The Sessions Judge also directed the jail authorities to ensure that all the needy inmates be provided legal aid free of cost. The Sessions Judge also told that each and every prisoner is entitled for free legal aid.
