DO NOT PRACTICE THESE EXERCISES IF YOU SUFFER FROM KNEE PAIN

People these days are too worried about their health and fitness. They start their day with morning walks and end it with an evening workout routine. This helps us maintain our weight and also boosts our immunity. However, we can suffer from some achy joints with age. This is normal. All we need to do is exercise properly. A major problem all people suffer from is knee pain. It can get worse if you practice the wrong exercises. Here are few which you shouldn’t practice if you care for your knee-

1.Running-can make your knee pain worse. Specially if you run on a hard ground made of concrete, you’re likely to exert a lot of pressure on your knee joint which can increase the pain. If you like running, do it on a grassy lawn and don’t run too fast.

2.Kickbacks- Who doesn’t like a toned butt? Women often practice kickbacks to tone their glutes and buttocks. However, it can be painful for your knees. You cannot do this exercise on a soft surface so place two mats below your knees. This will make sure your knee doesn’t get hurt when you put down your leg.

3.Lunges- This is another exercise you should avoid. It can put a lot of pressure on your knee joint. Do not press your knee forward than your ankle. A better way to tone your legs is by practicing butt bridge. This balances the amount of pressure on your legs and keeps your knee joints safe.

4.Knee Push-ups- Never do this exercise if your knees hurt already. All the body weight is concentrated on your knees which can make your pain worse. A better replacement is wall push-ups. Here, most of the pressure is on your arms and abs, thus, saving your knees.
