EC Chandan inaugurates traditional music training, workshop at Wakha Mulbekh
KARGIL, JANUARY 16, 2021: Executive Councilor (EC) for Health Muhammad Ali Chandan who is also the Councillor of Shargole Constituency inaugurated 15 Days Long Traditional Music, Daman and Surna Training /Workshop organized by Ladakh Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (LAACL) Kargil in collaboration with Lamdon Social Welfare Society at Spring Dale Public School Wakha Mulbekh here today where he was chief guest.
Tehsildar Shargole Mohammad Hassan, District Cultural Officer Kargil Muhammad Ali Tak, Zonal Education Officer Shargole Mehfooz Ali Khan, Principal Spring Dales Public School Mulbekh Tsewang Nurboo, Sarpanchs, Panchs, prominent citizens, workshop instructors and participants were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, EC Muhammad Ali Chandan appreciated the LAACL, Kargil for conducting this workshop in Wakha Mulbekh area. He congratulated the Lamdon Social Welfare Society Wakha, Mulbekh for extending support to Ladakh Cultural Academy Kargil in organizing such event.
EC Chandan urged the participants to learn from the workshop with dedication and concentration and assured to extend all out support from his side towards the preservation of local music.
Addressing the inaugural session, District Cultural Officer Muhammad Ali Tak welcomed the dignitaries, artists, resource persons and people of the village. He said that history, culture, folklore, dress and customs are identity of every community and it is important for our young generation to learn these traditions. He further said that the purpose of this workshop is aimed to protecting and teaching the local music and instruments to the young generation.
Meanwhile, local artists also performed various folk dances which were highly applauded and enjoyed by the dignitaries and audience.
Artists who performed during the inaugural ceremony included local artists of the Youth Cooperation Society Wakha Mulbekh and Ama Tsogspa Shargole besides solo singers Fahmida Fatima, Fatima Nissa, Stanzin Padma, Sadiq Ali Ashoor and Dechan Choskit.
President Lamdon Social Welfare Society Wakha, Mulbekh Tsewang Dorjay presented the vote of thanks while Tsering Samphel conducted the proceedings of the programme.
