Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil, for Education Zakir Hussain today undertook a comprehensive educational tour to Thasgam – Tiakat of Barsoo Nala.
The EC visited various educational institutions, including Govt Girls Middle School in Thasgam, Govt High School in Tiakat, Govt Girls Middle School in Tiakat, Govt Middle School in Khandi, GMS in Humburtik, and High School in Barsoo.
He was accompanied by Chief Education Officer of Kargil, Deputy CEO of BDC in Barsoo, and Zonal Education Officer of Sankoo.
During the tour, the Executive Councillor engaged with the local community and PRI members, who highlighted various concerns.
The key issues raised included the need for compound walling of schools, filling vacant teacher positions, provision of winter coaching facilities, construction of additional classrooms, establishment of a bridge to access at Middle schools Khandi and other related matters.
In response to these concerns, the Executive Councillor directed the Chief Education Officer to take necessary actions promptly, particularly emphasizing the timely fulfillment of vacant teacher positions.
The CEO assured a proactive approach in addressing these issues based on the availability of teachers.
Furthermore, the EC underscored the importance of maintaining high standards in all developmental activities.
He instructed against compromising on quality, emphasizing the Council’s commitment to ensuring robust educational infrastructure and facilities in the region.
He also assured to address all the matters in phase manners.
At the outset, the EC said that the aim of the tour is to address grassroots educational quality and holistic development in the education sector.
He further added that Under the guidance of Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, Hill Council Kargil is steadfastly committed to elevating the standards of education in the region.
