Kargil, October 31:
Executive Councilor, Kargil Development Authority and Tourism, LAHDC, Kargil Kacho Mohd Feroz today conducted a review meeting to examine the physical and financial achievements of all approved ongoing and new schemes of Kargil Development Authority and Tourism Department Kargil, i.e. CAPEX, SDP and State Sector scheme for the FY 2023-24 and discussed other departmental related pending issues.
The meeting was attended by A.G. Zargar, Chief Executive Officer, KDA and Aga Syed Toha Assistant Director Tourism Kargil.
All approved ongoing and new schemes of the departments were thoroughly discussed and directions were issued to the concerned officers to complete the approved schemes/works within the approved allocation during the current financial year 2023-24.
It was further directed that the tendering process pending, if any, for the current financial year 2023-24 may be completed within a stipulated period before closure of the working season.
The EC also directed the concerned officers to ensure to incur full expenditure of the allotted allocation before closure of current financial year.
The following major projects came under discussion i.e. Convention Centre, Kargil, River Front Development works Kargil and Chiktan Khar preservation Project etc.
In the meeting, the EC ensured that the matter regarding preparation of DPR, Accord of Administrative Approval, and provision of funds for the above-mentioned projects will be discussed with the competent authority of UT Ladakh to redress it on priority basis.
The Executive Councilor also directed the Assistant Director, Tourism to prepare a proposal and provide ideas, to make, Kargil a unique tourist destination.
