Chandigarh, August 27- Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala has directed the officers that no problem should be faced by any farmer visiting the mandis for the sale of Kharif season crops starting from September 25, 2021. He directed them to get the sheds, roads, packaging bags, weighing machines etc. ready in the mandis so that the farmers do not face any problem.
The Deputy Chief Minister who also holds the portfolio of Food, Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, today held a meeting with the officers of Food, Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Haryana Agricultural Marketing Board, Hafed, Haryana Warehousing Corporation and other agencies. Took update of preparations regarding the purchase of crops. Senior officers of several departments including HAFED Chairman, Sh. Kailash Bhagat were present in the meeting.
Deputy Chief Minister informed after the meeting that preparations for the procurement of Kharif crops are going on in full swing across the state. He informed that this time the state government will start the procurement of paddy crop from September 25 and this procurement will continue till November 15. At the same time, the procurement of crops like bajra, maize, moong etc. will be done from October 1 to November 15.
Sh. Dushyant Chautala informed that this year about 200 procurement centers have been set up for paddy procurement. Similarly, there will be 86 procurement centers for bajra, 19 for maize and 38 for moong. He said that the government has fixed the minimum support price for paddy in this Kharif season at Rs 1940, bajra at Rs 2250, maize at Rs 1870 and moong at Rs 7275, groundnut at Rs 5550 per quintal.
Appealing to the farmers, the Deputy Chief Minister said that farmers must register themselves to sell their crops in the market, as it is mandatory to register on Meri Fasal Mera Byora Portal by August 31.
Sh. Dushyant Chautala informed that till now more than 2.9 lakh farmers have got themselves registered for selling paddy, 2.45 lakh 45 for bajra and 66,000 for moong.
On this occasion, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. V. Umashankar, Additional Chief Secretary, Food, Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Sh. Anurag Rastogi, Deputy Principal Secretary, Smt. Ashima Brar besides other senior officers were present in the meeting.
