RAJOURI, MAY 05: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today commissioned a new s 1000 LPM Oxygen Concentrator Plant here at Government Medical College.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh; Principal GMC, Brij Mohan Gupta; Medical Superintendent GMC, Dr Mehmood; Assistant Executive Engineer Mechanical, Vinod Sharma besides the concerned officers and paramedical staff of the Health Department were also present on the occasion.
The Oxygen concentrator plant with 1000 litres per min (LPM) capacity will help in augmenting bed capacity in the district for successful treatment of Covid patients.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the plant is a lifeline project in the present COVID19 scenario and appreciated the efforts of the concerned executing agency for its speedy commissioning.
“With the commissioning of the plant, the district has become self-sufficient in terms of the medical oxygen needs,” the DC said.
Earlier, the district had to depend upon Jammu for the medical oxygen supply, and the commissioning of the plant would also lessen the burden on the plant at Jammu.
The Deputy Commissioner directed for ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the plant for hassle-free oxygen supply to the GMC & AH.
The Deputy Commissioner apprised that concrete measures are being taken to ensure the adequate oxygen supply in the hospitals for the convenience of the Covid patients.
The Deputy Commissioner also appealed to the public to follow COVID-19 appropriate behavior to break the highly infectious chain.
