Headaches, that many people deal with on a daily basis, can affect one’s routine work and medical conditions. Though headaches can be of three types—Tension Headache, Migraine Headache or Sinus Headache, the tension headache is the most common type that people face.
There are various medicines that can be used to get relief from the headaches but the medical experts advise not to consume the medicines daily. There are a number of natural and effective home remedies that can help you in getting relief from the pain.
Some home remedies to get rid of headaches are:
- Exercise: Wake up early in the morning and go for a brisk walk or jogging. Another exercise that you can perform is yoga, which will relax your mind. Meditation also helps in curing the headache.
- Drink plenty of water: Throughout the day, drink more than 10 glasses of water. When you feel that the pain in your head has started, then start drinking fluids immediately.
- Cold compress: If you have a headache at the lower back then you can use a cold compressor for relief.
- Avoid chewing gum: When you chew gums for more than required time, then it causes pain in your head. So try to chew for less time until it has the flavour.
- Wear sunglasses or radiant free glasses: When you go out in sunny weather, wear sunglasses as the sun rays can also start the pain. Even in late evening when you are working on screen, try to wear the glasses which are rays free.
- Take caffeine: Drink coffee or tea of your choice, twice a day, especially when your head is aching.
- Massage: Thrice a week, massage your points of head with essential oils as it gives you relief and lowers your pain.
- Turn down the lights: Sitting in bright lights with radiation can also be a cause of severe headache.
- Avoid stress: We all know that there are numerous reasons for stress in everyone’s life but try to focus on the solutions rather than over-thinking about the cause of stress. When you start thinking positively, your health will automatically get better.
- Food: Eat a proper and healthy diet.
- Good sleep: Sleep for around 6-7 hours per day.
- Limit alcohol consumption: Even the excess alcohol intake causes the headache or you can say after a hangover you feel dizzy and a little bit of headache.
