CHANDIGARH
Overweight men have lower sperm counts than men of average weight, but male reproductive health is rarely discussed in India or anyplace else on the planet, and even when infertility is recognized, it is regarded with disappointment and humiliation because the ability to reproduce is assumed. Men’s general health has an impact on fertility, and while sperm quality is an important component of male fertility, it isn’t the sole aspect.
Women’s reproductive health is commonly mentioned, while males frequently do not understand how to care for their reproductive health. We brought on a doctor to provide some fitness suggestions for millennial males to take care of their reproductive health, as there are many misconceptions about this topic.
Stress, an unpredictable lifestyle, and a lack of physical activity make it difficult to focus on reproductive health nowadays. Low sexual desire, ejaculation difficulties, erectile dysfunction, genital ulcers, sexually transmitted illnesses (STIs), testicular disorders, prostate cancer, and infertility are only few of the issues that might cause marital discord.”
Tips for millennial males on how to look after their reproductive health include:
1. STI screening on a regular basis: Men should be aware of sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV (human immunodeficiency virus), Syphilis, Chlamydia, and Herpes. There is now no vaccination available for these, thus prevention is the only way to protect yourself from these diseases. Contraceptive use should also be encouraged. When it comes to screening, you must follow the doctor’s directions.
2. Quit smoking: Smoking has been shown to have a negative impact on sperm quality. As a result, refrain from smoking.
3. Try to keep your personal hygiene in check: You should avoid using any chemical items down there. Wear undergarments made of a breathable fabric, such as cotton, that are not too tight.
4. Eat a well-balanced diet: You should choose a diet that includes all of the essential nutrients. Eggs are high in protein and vitamin E, which boost sperm motility and count while also protecting them from oxidative damage. Berries are a wonderful choice because they contain antioxidants and can aid with sperm count. Spinach promotes the generation of sperm. Walnuts are high in omega-3 fatty acids, which help to increase sperm motility. Avoid processed, packaged, and canned foods, as they can be harmful.
5. Exercise on a regular basis: This can help to boost sperm count. Try to exercise for half an hour at least 5 days a week. Swimming, cycling, gymming, Yoga, aerobics, and jogging are all options. Meditation can help you relax.
