KARGIL, Nov 15, 2022: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan today visited Tambis and Damasna villages and inaugurated various developmental works.
The CEC in presence of Executive Councilor R&B, Mubarak Shah Naqvi and Executive Councilor Social Welfare, Agha Syed Mehdi Fazili inaugurated construction of additional rooms at High School Tambis by way of raising of 2nd floor over the existing first floor.
Others present on the occasion include CEO Kargil, Mushtaq Ahmad, Superintending Engineer PWD R&B Circle Kargil, Abdul Mutalib, Executive Engineer Suru Valley Division Sankoo, Headmaster of the school, Sarpanches, Panches, and other prominent persons of the area besides teachers, parents and students.
Khan congratulated the people, especially students for inauguration of the additional rooms which will benefit students of the area. While highlighting the role of teachers, the CEC praised teachers for their hard work and dedication.
While interacting with students, Khan said knowledge is the powerful tool in the hands of students and advised them to study smartly and prepare themselves for upcoming challenges.
The school management and village representatives submitted a memorandum of demands to the CEC for upgradation of the High School to Higher Secondary School, filling up of vacant posts, arrangement for Hindi teacher, electrification, drinking water and toilet facilities.
The CEC, while replying to the demands, said that he would recommend upgradation of the school. Regarding Hindi teacher, Khan said they are looking into the matter and have taken up the issue with Director Education Ladakh. Similarly, regarding electrification, drinking water, toilet facilities, the CEC assured to provide these facilities on priority.
On the occasion, EC Fazili thanked CEC for fulfilling the long pending demands of the village. He expressed happiness over the inauguration of developmental works in his constituency under the guidance of the CEC.
The CEC in presence of EC Naqvi and EC Fazili inaugurated construction of link road Zbalto to Yokma Abalto Tambis and Ice Hockey Rink at Kelling Thang Tambis.
Later, Khan toured to Damasna village and inaugurated construction of link road from Astana to Masjid Spang Damasna in presence of EC Naqvi, Councilor Tai Suru Agha Syed Abass.
Others who were present on the occasion include Councilor Parkachik Haji Ghulam Muhammad, SE R&B, ACR, Executive Engineer Suru Valley Division Sankoo, SDM Sankoo, BDC Chairperson Tai Suru, Sarpanches, Panches and prominent citizens of the area.
The village representatives submitted a memorandum of demands to the CEC including the installation of lift irrigation pump for irrigation, diversion of HT transmission line (supposed to pass through agriculture land), lack of teachers in Middle School of the village.
While replying to the memorandum of demands, Khan said the demand of lift irrigation pump will be taken up with concerned department and assured for its installation at the earliest.
While talking about shortage of faculty in the Middle School, he assured that the teachers would be posted soon as per the student enrolment. Regarding the diversion of HT transmission line, Khan directed the concerned officials to resolve the issue at the earliest.
On the occasion, the Councilor Tai Suru thanked CEC for the inauguration of the link road. He also thanked people for their support in the developmental works.
The Councilor also hoped greenhouses provided to people will fulfil all the demands regarding shortage of vegetables in the area. He stressed upon people for adoption of fish farms as it would be beneficial for people of the area.
