Charitable Trust run by Sanjeev Arora, MP assures to Punjab CM to match State Govt contribution towards needy Cancer patients
Ludhiana, October 15:
AAP Member Parliament (Rajya Sabha) from Punjab Sanjeev Arora met Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann recently and held a productive discussion on various issues, including alarming rise in number of Cancer patients in the state.
In a statement here today, Arora said he apprised the chief minister about the activities being carried by Krishana Pran Breast Cancer Charitable Trust which is being run by his family for treatment of poor cancer patients.
Arora promised that the Trust will give matching contribution as of Punjab Government towards needy Cancer patients. In addition to Punjab Government’s aid of 1.5 Lacs per patient, the Trust would contribute matching per patient and the Trust undertakes to take care of minimum 100 patients annually for this noble cause.
“This can be considered a contribution from my family in fighting against this disease and helping the needy cancer patients in State of Punjab”, he further assured the chief minister.
Krishana Pran Breast Cancer Charitable Trust was formed in 2005 in memory of his parents. Arora’s mother Krishna Arora had left this world at an early age due to late detection of this deadly disease. The main purpose of forming the Trust was to make as many people possible aware of this deadly disease and treat free of cost poor patients down with this disease. Trust has held various camps in various places on prevention & awareness of this disease. Also trust has treated 178 patients free of cost with Cancer. Free treatment includes surgery if required and also all the medication till required by patient.
CM appreciated this gesture and said it will go long way in helping needy patients.
