Women are becoming pregnant at a later age than ever before. Some will be expecting their first kid, while others will be expecting their second. Older mothers are likely to be more financially secure and have established occupations. They may also feel more capable of caring for a newborn than a young mother.
Do elderly women and their children, on the other hand, face greater dangers?
However, there are a few factors that can influence your chances of becoming pregnant:
• Age. After the age of 30, your chances of conceiving in any one month decrease, and they continue to decline as you get older, peaking in your 40s.
• Irregular Menstrual periods. It’s tough to calculate when you’re ovulating when you have an irregular cycle, making it difficult to decide when is the best time to have sex.
• Sexual frequency. You are less likely to become pregnant if you have sex less frequently.
• How long have you been trying to conceive? If you haven’t gotten pregnant after a year of trying, your chances of getting pregnant are likely to be slim. Consult your doctor about infertility tests for both women and men.
• Pregnancy can be affected by illnesses or medical issues.
• Gestational diabetes occurs when a pregnant woman’s blood sugar levels are too high and the pancreas is unable to produce adequate insulin. After having delivery, it generally vanishes.
• According to a small study, increased levels of oestrogen and progesterone stimulate hair growth while simultaneously relaxing the oesophagus, causing acid reflux or heartburn.
• Having trouble conceiving: Women’s fertility begins to decline in their early 30s, and it may take longer for them to conceive.
• Pregnancy complications include: During pregnancy, women over the age of 35 are more likely to develop diabetes and high blood pressure. Multiple pregnancies are also more common among older women.
• Obstacles during delivery: Women in their 30s are more likely than younger women to require a cesarean section.
Women who have their first child beyond the age of 35 are also more likely to experience various difficulties during delivery, such as:
• Miscarriage
• Twins
• High blood pressure
• Diabetes during pregnancy
• Difficult labour
