The Swachhta Committee (Commerce) of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, organised a Poster Making Competition on the theme ‘Dussehra: Commemorative of the Annihilation of the Ten Evils in the Environment- A Portrayal’. The competition witnessed participation of 26 students from different streams who prepared artistic portraits exhibiting the metaphoric connection between good and evil exemplified in the mythological narration of the festival of Dussehra. All the entries showcased the ingenuity of the participants in their myriad expressions of eradicating the deep-rooted evils plaguing the environment and the society. The winners were awarded cash prizes.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava appreciated the theme of the competition which served to cast an overarching influence of festivals on the minds of the students in the contemporary scenario. She said that sensitising the youth about the problems in our society is imperative for the eradication of these problems.

Second Prize: Bharti Yadav, BBA-I
Third Prize: Anubha, BA-III
Consolation Prizes: Chhavi, BSc (Medical) II and Vidhushi, BA-III
