The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh organised an online workshop on ‘Entrepreneurship and Innovation as Career Opportunity’. Mr. Sidhant Banura, Director, Ashvamegha Solutions, Amritsar was the resource person for this workshop that witnessed enthusiastic participation of over 108 students and faculty members.

The session was an endeavour to inspire students to take up entrepreneurship as a career by acquainting them with the prospects of undertaking entrepreneurship and innovation.
Apprising the participants of the plethora of opportunities in the world of entrepreneurship and innovation, Mr. Banura emphasised that a positive mindset is imperative for an entrepreneur to start a venture. He added that to nurture a successful start-up, discipline, objectivity, hard work, communication, creativity, planning, adaptability and problem-solving ability are essential attributes that an entrepreneur must possess. Overall, the session was quite thought-provoking and inspiring.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava lauded the consistent efforts of MCM IIC aimed at promoting culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students through such sessions that acquaint them with industry insights. She informed that the Union Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell has awarded the college’s IIC 4 star rating in its Annual Performance report (2020-21).
