The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) got a major boost ahead of the Jalandhar bypoll after panchayats of over 15 villages, including members and hundreds of villagers, joined the AAP, during a rally at Kartarpur. The panchayat members left the Akali Dal, Congress and BSP parties and joined the AAP.

On this occasion, the party general secretary Harchand Singh Barsat presided as the chief guest. Barsat formally inducted the newly members into the party fold. This event was organised by Kartarpur MLA Balkar Singh.

More than 1,500 AAP volunteers took part in the rally at Dana Mandi Lambra. The rally was attended by General Secretary Harchand Singh Barst and MLA Balkar Singh along with Rajwinder Kaur Thiara, Gurwinder Singh Ginda, Bahri Salmani along with block presidents, constituency in-charges and coordinators.

Those join the party today include, Bhagwanpur village Sarpanch Varinder Kumar along with panchayat members, Badshahpur village sarpanch Inderjit Kaur with his panchayat members, Lambra village Panchyat sarpanch Kulwinder Kaur with Panchyat members and his supporters, Rampur village sarpanch Geeta Ranu with her Panchyat members, Village Singha sarpanch Balraj Singh along with his panchayat members and Wadala village Sarpanch Avinash Kumar with Panchyat members along with his supporters, besides several panchyat members from many other villages have joined the party here.

Speaking on the occasion, the Mandi board chairman Harchand Singh Barsat said that the Mann government has been doing commendable work in Punjab. People and leaders are continuously joining the Aam Aadmi Party after being impressed by the working style of the honest AAP government.

Welcoming the new members in the party, he reiterated that Mann government has fulfilled most of its election promises so far and it will continue to work for the welfare of the common man to fulfil all the remaining poll promises to make the state again as Rangla Punjab. He exuded confidence that AAP will register a landslide victory in the forthcoming bypoll election in Jalandhar. He also asked people to work in collaboration with the state government for the overall development of Punjab.
