Chandigarh, December 31:

Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Friday announced ex-gratia grant of Rs. 50 lakh and a government job to one member of the bereaved family of Lance Naik Jasbir Singh, who laid down his life in the service of the nation while fiercely fighting against the terrorists at Anant Nag area in district Kulgam of Jammu and Kashmir.

Extending his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family of the brave soldier, CM Channi said that his utmost dedication to defend country’s sovereignty besides safeguarding its unity and integrity, even putting his life to stake would ever inspire his peers to perform their duties with far more devotion and commitment.

Notably, Jasbir Singh hailed from village Vain Poin in district Tarn Taran and is survived by his parents, a brother and a sister.
