Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that we have performed a miracle of depositing Rs one lakh 76 thousand crore in the accounts of farmers in 22 months. This is a government of the farmers, no stone will be left unturned in the welfare of farmers. By laying a network of irrigation schemes in the state, the state government is working incessantly to make crops flourish in every dry field of the state. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing the state level crop damage claim distribution programme held at Betul. The Chief Minister transferred an amount of Rs 7618 crore in 49 lakh claims of Kharif 2020 and Rabi 2020-21 to the account of farmers with a single click.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan inaugurated the programme by performing kanya pujan and lighting a lamp. Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shri Narendra Singh Tomar took part virtually from New Delhi. State’s Farmers’ Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Shri Kamal Patel, MP Shri Durgadas Uike and other public representatives were present in the programme. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also visited the exhibition of Agriculture, Horticulture, Public Health Engineering, Energy, AYUSH, Women and Child Development and self help groups. The Chief Minister inaugurated the development works worth Rs 381 crore of Betul and also performed bhoomi-pujan. All the districts of the state participated virtually in the programme. The programme was telecast live on DD MP, regional channels, AIR as well as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that today is a historic day for the state. Under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, the largest amount of Rs 7618 crore has been distributed in the country with a single click today. Earlier also, Rs 2876 crore were deposited in the accounts of farmers following crop failure. So far, an assistance of Rs 10 thousand 494 crore has been released by the state government to the farmers. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the earlier government had not given the premium amount to the insurance companies. As a result the farmers could not get the amount of insurance. The previous governments did not even conduct a survey on crop failure, whereas at present, the state government has provided more than Rs 306 crore 78 lakh to one lakh 28 thousand 474 farmers in the pradhan Mantri Bima Yojana in Betul district alone.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the state government has provided Rs.29 thousand 834 crore to the banks for giving loans at zero percent interest to the farmers. On power connections, a grant of Rs.51 thousand per motor is given by the state government. The state government has provided Rs 30,000 crore to power companies on behalf of 47 thousand farmers. While expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for providing Kisan Samman Nidhi, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the Prime Minister has provided Rs 10 thousand 333 crore to Madhya Pradesh alone under this scheme. Shri Chouhan said that inspired by Prime Minister Shri Modi, the state government has also provided Rs.4000 to the farmers in the form of Kisan Samman Nidhi. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Rs 10,000 is definitely a boon for small farmers.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Rs 4 thousand 779 crores have been deposited in the accounts of farmers till now. Rs 2 thousand 876 crore were deposited in the accounts of farmers for the losses caused in the Kharif crop last year. To improve the condition of co-operative banks, an amount of Rs 800 crores was provided to the banks. For Kharif, more than two lakh 88 thousand farmers were given Rs 193 crore as crop insurance for horticulture crops. Rs 72 crores were deposited by the farmers in the Solar Pump Grant Scheme. Under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, a loan of Rs 1583 crore was given by the banks. On the purchase of wheat, paddy, jowar, gram, mustard, lentil, moong, urad and other crops, Rs 75 thousand crore were deposited in the account of farmers which is an account for 22 months.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that in this way Rs one lakh 64 thousand 737 crore have been deposited in the accounts of farmers in the last 22 months. after adding the amount released today Rs one lakh 76 thousand crore have been released in the accounts of the farmers. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the earlier government had waived loans worth only Rs 6000 crores of farmers. Out of this, the responsibility of half was passed on to the banks and societies, as a result of which the loans of the farmers were not waived.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the state government would spend Rs.66 thousand crore on the system of irrigation in the state in the coming years. In order to ensure proper use of every drop of water, water will be supplied to the fields through pipelines instead of canals, so that farmers are able to use sprinklers and drips to grow their crops. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan thanked Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for the Ken-Betwa link project. He said that this project will change the picture and fate of Bundelkhand. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that we have to ensure cent percent utilization of Narmada water by the year 2024. For this, irrigation projects are being made for different areas of the state.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan apprised the farmers that very soon the relief amount would be released in the account of the farmers.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that even after two Corona waves, we have not let the work of public welfare and development of the state be affected. Motivating the people of the state to get both the vaccines of Corona virus, Shri Chouhan said that those who are 60 years of age or above must get the booster dose. He also motivated the people of the state to wear masks. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the third wave was not effective due to widespread vaccination in the state.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that there is a need to adopt innovation in the field of agriculture. While exhorting the farmers to adopt natural farming and use drones in the state, Shri Chouhan said that the youth should set up custom hiring centres, cold storages, godowns etc. All possible help would be provided by the state government. Youth should also take initiative to take advantage of the government schemes for agricultural infrastructure. The state government will also extend full cooperation in this direction.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that farmers should come forward in the field of solar power generation. The state government will buy electricity from farmers who have rocky land and who install 2 mega watt solar plants on their farm, at the rate of about Rs 3.15 per unit so that supply of electricity to the farmers is also ensured. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Rs 2500 crore would be made available to women through women self-help groups. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that it is our resolve that the income of every sister should be at least 10 thousand rupees per month. Self-help groups have been entrusted with various types of responsibilities to increase the income of women. Self-help groups are also being made responsible for the production of nutritious food. Women self-help groups will also be linked with the purchase of agricultural products.
The Chief Minister said that with the Jal Jeevan Mission, water supply from tap is being ensured in every household. The survey of houses in rural areas has been done. Those who do not have accommodation, they will be provided accommodation in Pradhan Mantri Awas Plus. Funds will be provided to every poor person to build his own house, no person will live in a kutcha house. Shri Chouhan said that I have become the Chief Minister only to change your life. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that “Ration Aapke Gram” scheme is being operated in tribal areas. Villagers will not have to go to other villages to get ration. The state government is running many innovative schemes for the provision of roti (bread), cloth and house, medicine, education and employment arrangements.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that activities are being started under different schemes to provide employment/self-employment to 2 lakh people every month. On February 25, there will be a loan distribution programme again on Rozgar Diwas. On January 12 last, 5 lakh 26 thousand people were given employment. The Chief Minister said that food processing activities would also be encouraged.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the State Government is starting CM Rise Schools. These schools will be better than private schools. 16 to 28 crore rupees will be spent on the construction of a school. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that now medical and engineering studies will be done in Hindi also in Madhya Pradesh.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the cooperation of all the people of the state is needed to change the lives of the villages of the state and the entire state. Together we will change the state and the lives of the people of the state. The Chief Minister said that with everyone’s cooperation, we will make Madhya Pradesh the best state of India.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that we will keep our villages neat and clean. There should be an atmosphere of joy in the villages on the birth of a daughter. There should be a feeling of equality towards the son and daughter. The state government is also implementing Ladli Laxmi Yojana-2.
Union Agriculture Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar said in a virtual address from Delhi that today is a historic day for Madhya Pradesh. This is the first time that crop insurance amount of Rs 7618 crore is being deposited in the accounts of more than 49 lakh farmers of the state. Under the able leadership of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, remarkable progress has been made in the field of agriculture and farming since last 15 years. Shri Tomar expressed gratitude towards Chief Minister Shri Chouhan for his agriculture-friendly policies and sensitivity towards farmers.
Union Minister Shri Tomar said that the capacity of irrigation and availability of electricity is increasing continuously in the state. He said that the state is leading in the field of advanced agriculture, which is a matter of pride for all of us. He said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan are together working continuously for the development of the state. New schemes are being made and implemented regularly for the agriculture sector and poverty alleviation. Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana are proving to be a boon for the farmers. Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana is providing security cover to the farmers. Farmers are getting maximum benefits by paying less premium. Madhya Pradesh is playing a remarkable role in all the fields like food grains, milk production, horticulture etc. The central government is providing assistance to the state for developing infrastructure in the field of agriculture. He said that today there is a need to connect the farmers with technology. The Centre has issued a drone policy for this. Grants will also be made available to organisations wishing to buy drones.
State’s Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Shri Kamal Patel said in his welcome address that today is a historic day not only for Betul but for the farmers of entire Madhya Pradesh and entire India. History is being made here today under the able leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Union Agriculture Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar and Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He said that the state government is a village, poor and farmer friendly government. Prime Minister’s resolve is to double the income of farmers. To fulfill his resolve, the state government is discharging its role well under the able leadership of Chief Minister Shri Chouhan. Many benefits are being provided to the farmers by making various amendments under RBC 6 (4). Madhya Pradesh has been receiving Krishi Karman Award for seven consecutive years. All this has been possible only because of the hard work of the farmers of the state. He said that Madhya Pradesh is being counted as the number one state in the country in the field of agriculture. He paid tributes to Swami Dayanand Saraswati on his birth anniversary and said that Swami Dayanand Saraswati had given the mantra to give the best to the world. Following this mantra, the Chief Minister of the state Shri Chouhan is engaged in taking the state forward. To make agriculture a profitable business, the cooperation of the farmers is also necessary to bring glory to the name of the state in the world.
Before the launch of the programme, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan visited the exhibition based on the activities of various departments. He dedicated and performed bhoomi-pujan of various development works of the district worth Rs 381 crore 35 lakh 89 thousand. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also performed Kanya-Poojan. Agriculture Minister Shri Patel and other guests welcomed Chief Minister Shri Chouhan by presenting him medicinal plants. A plough was also presented to Chief Minister Shri Chouhan as a welcome. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan gave dummy cheques of the amount of crop insurance scheme to some farmers as a symbol. As a symbol, he distributed benefits to the beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Ration Aapke Gram, urban street vendors, Covid ex-gratia, smart phones to Anganwadi workers etc.
