Chandigarh, June 9 – Haryana Power Minister, Sh. Ranjit Singh said that in the first phase, the state government has set a target to release about 7621 remaining tube well connections by July 15, 2021 to farmers of the State. So far about 9401 tube well connections have been released.
Addressing a press conference here today, Sh. Ranjit Singh said that the farmers who had applied for tube well connection before January 1, 2019, are being given them in a phased manner. A total number of 17022 tube well connections will be released in the first phase. Similarly, about 40,000 applicants will be covered under the second phase, following which a target has been set to provide tube well connections to them by June 30, 2022. Out of these 40,000 applicants, about 39571 applicants have been asked to get the estimate prepared and deposit the fees accordingly. Besides this, 19672 farmers have also deposited the estimated fee.
The Power Minister said that steps are being taken by the State Government to provide adequate water facilities for irrigation purposes to the farmers under the vision of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal. Under these steps, micro irrigation (drip irrigation system) will be encouraged in the areas where the water table is below 100 feet. For drip irrigation system, he said that subsidy up to 80 percent will be provided to the Scheduled Caste farmers and subsidy up to 60 percent will be provided to the farmers belonging to General category. He said that the State Government would provide tubewell connections to the farmers in the areas where the groundwater level is less than 100 feet and drip irrigation system would be implemented in the areas with more depth.
Sh. Ranjit Singh said that keeping in view the interest of farmers, the State Government has authorized 7 other motor pumpset companies. Farmers can purchase pumpsets from these companies and get them installed in their fields. These companies include Shakti Pump, Crompton Electronics Limited, La-gajjar Machineries Pvt. Ltd, CRI Pumps, Duke Plasto Technique Pvt. Ltd, Aquasab Engineering and 3 Star Pump of Lubi Industries. The concerned companies will bear the responsibility of pump installation work to repair work.
