Erring traders fined in Chanderkote

RAMBAN, MAY 31, 2021:   Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department, Ramban has launched an extensive market checking drive to check quality and prices of food items including mutton, poultry, fruits, vegetables, milk and milk products, etc
The checking   being conducted  on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Mussarat Islam, are carried out to take action against violators for overcharging and non-display of rate list.
The enforcement squad led by Assistant Director, FCS&CA, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Butt,   checked various business establishments   in Chanderkote and recovered a fine of Rs 3500 from various defaulters.
The AD, FCS&CA also imposed a fine of Rs 2400 on violators for violating Covid protocols.
The AD, FCS&CA directed shopkeepers, especially vegetable & fruit vendors to refrain from overcharging, besides displaying rate list in their shops to avoid action under extant rule and law.  He said that shops of habitual offenders shall be   black listed.
