FDA team confiscated 50 MTP kits in Assandh, district Karnal

Chandigarh, March 9– As per the directions of Haryana Health and Family Welfare Minister, Sh. Anil Vij, the team of Food and Drug Administration Department has succeeded in confiscating 50 MTP kits and through a special raid the department also succeeded in recovering 20 different types of unlicensed allopathic medicines from a shop premises at Assandh, Karnal.

Giving information in this regard, a spokesperson of the Food and Drug Administration Department said that a team has raided a chemist shop and recovered 20 different unlicensed medicines from this shop in Karnal owned by Surendra Singh, resident of Rohilla SS, Kheda Sarfali, Assandh of district Karnal. He added that the shop owner was unable to present the sales and purchase record of the said medicines.

        He said that according to the statement of Surendra Singh recorded on the spot, the team succeeded in catching another person in the same chain named Sandeep Kumar resident of village Ball Jattan district Panipat at bus stand, village Kheri Sharf Ali, Assandh with drugs and 50 MTP kits. He said that Sandeep Kumar was on the way to deliver unlicensed drugs to Surendra Singh.

The spokesperson said that 39 MTP kits have been confiscated on the spot under Form 16 and the remaining 11 MTP kits have been seized under Form 17. He informed that 5 types of narcotic drugs falling under the category of NDPS have been handed over to the police for action as he was unable to produce any drug license required for sale and purchase of the recovered drugs. He added that along with it the shop owner has no previous sale and purchase record of the recovered medicines. The spokesperson said that an FIR was registered against these accused under the NDPS Act.
