Sh. GirishDayalan IAS has assumed charge as Deputy Commissioner at Ferozepur. On his arrival at Ferozepur, he was given a Guard of Honour by the Punjab Police Contingent. After making his appearance at the office, he got acquainted with the staff of the office for the first time and also interacted with the journalists of the district.

While interacting with the media, he said that his main motive would be to hold peaceful and transparent elections in the district. In this regard various ROs and officials have been briefed about the preparations being made for holding elections in four Assembly constituencies and strict instructions have been given to the officials to complete the election process in a transparent manner. He further said that the media can co-operate their best with the administration and wherever there was any shortcoming, it should be brought to the notice of the administration. He further instructed to  not to hide any work during the election process and also to share all relevant information with the people of the district through the media from time to time.

On the occasion Deputy Commissioner Sh. Girish Dayalan while answering the questions of the journalists said that his main objective during the election process is to expedite the work of Covid vaccination. He said that civil surgeons and SDMs would play a pivotal role in speeding up the work of covid vaccination. The village sarpanch will be coordinated in collaboration with the SDM and the officials and the vaccination will be carried out in a planned manner by visiting the villages in such a way that the vaccinator does not face any inconvenience.

He further said that all the good deeds done by the village sarpanches in the field of vaccination would be specially honoured on 26th January Republic Day.

Later, Deputy Commissioner Sh. Girish Dayalan arrived at Hussaini wala Border to pay homage to the tombs of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. He further said that he is very happy to have the opportunity to serve in Ferozepur, the land of martyrs.
