Chandigarh, August 9 – Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. J.P Dalal said that Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Horticulture Department has been running various schemes to provide benefits to Scheduled Caste farmers in the state. During the year 2021-22, the government has provided Rs 7626.95 lakh as benefits to the scheduled caste farmers under various schemes.

Sh. Dalal was replying to a question raised during the on-going Monsoon Session in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today.

While giving details of scheme wise benefits to the Scheduled Caste farmers by the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department during the year 2021-22, he said that under the scheme for providing implements / machinery on subsidy to the farmers and group of farmers belonging to the Scheduled Caste category, Rs 4.12 lakh for battery operated spray has been given to 225 farmers. Under National Food Security Mission (NFSM) Rs 6.95 has been given to 1825 SC farmers for Demonstration plots, seeds, fertilizers, insecticides, fungicide, water application tools  and plant protection equipment. Under Support to State Extension Programmes for Extension Reforms for SC Farmers (ATMA), benefits of Rs 52.68 has been given to 4246 SC farmers for Agri, Inputs (seeds, fertilisers, fungicides, insecticides etc.), Under Rashtriye Krishi Vikas Yojna for SC (RKVY), 7501 farmers were provided water harvesting structure, seed, shrimp rearing, training and awareness camps spending worth Rs. 1012.36 lakh, he added.

Similarly, under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), 11813 farmers were subsidized with the premium paid by the government amounting to Rs. 769.30 lakh. Under Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM)-9 CHCs, Agricultural machinery of worth Rs.38.13 lakh has been provided to 63 farmers. Under Scheme for Management for Crop Residue (CRM)-(125 individual farmers +23 CHCs), agricultural machinery of worth Rs.235.42 lakh has been provided to 286 farmers. Under Technology Mission on Sugarcane (TMS), agricultural inputs (seeds, fertilizers, pesticides) of worth Rs. 2.35 lakh have been provided to 46 farmers. Under Cotton Cultivation Scheme, water tank with micro-irrigation of worth Rs. 11.55 lakh has been provided to 3 farmers and Rs. 3777.60 lakhs (Rs. 6000 per farmer) has been provided to 62960 farmers under PMKSNY, Sh. J.P Dalal.

Sh J.P Dalal said that during the year 2021-22, the schemes-wise benefits given to the Scheduled Caste farmers by the Horticulture Department, under Scheme for Integrated Horticulture Development for Scheduled Castes families, 511 farmers were given Rs 488.86 lakh for vegetable crops, bamboo staking, vegetables, MS iron staking in crops, mushroom trays and protected structure. Under Central Scheme for National Horticulture Mission of Scheduled Castes farmers, Rs.1115.26 lakh has been provided to 544 farmers for area expansion of fruits and maintenance, expansion of  vegetables, spices, aromatic crops and renewal water farm ponds, Protected Farming, Mechanization PHM and Marketing IPM/INM and Beekeeping etc. Under “Silk Samagra” Integrated Scheme for development of Silk Industry (ISDSI) for Scheduled Caste farmers, Rs 112.37 has been provided to 326 farmers for Beneficiary Empowerment Program (BEP), Mulberry plantation development, construction of rearing house for 100 DFLS, supply of rearing equipment, support for prophylactic measures for assured cocoon yield and maintenance of plantation.

Sh. J.P Dalal further said that the list of Scheduled Caste farmers of Palwal Vidhan Sabha and Hodal would be made available. He informed that budget provision has been made for the schemes of Scheduled Caste farmers and adequate amount is available with the government. Sh. Dalal said that farmers are being made aware about various schemes of the State Government and Central Government so that they can avail maximum benefits of the government schemes. He said that work is being done to provide facilities like polyhouse, nethouse etc. to the farmers. He said that it has been decided to form a group of Scheduled Caste farmers and other farmers so as to uplift such farmers in the State.
