Haryana Chief Minister pays obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Nada Sahib

Akhand Path Sahib was organized at Gurdwara Sri Nada Sahib to thank Almighty for the formation of a separate Gurdwara managing committee for Haryana

The Chief Minister to attend the Bhog ceremony on October 9

 

Chandigarh October 7- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal today attended Akhand Path Sahib being held at Gurdwara Sri Nada Sahib to thank the Almighty after the Supreme Court announced its verdict to uphold the validity of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara (Management) Act, 2014.

Later interacting with the media persons, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the day when the Supreme Court had announced its verdict to uphold the validity of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara (Management) Act, 2014, he had decided to pay obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Nada Sahib to thank Waheguru Ji.

He said that today Akhand Path of Sri Guru Granth Sahib has been started at the Gurdwara and Bhog ceremony will be held on October 9. I will also attend the Bhog ceremony, informed Sh. Manohar Lal.

The Chief Minister said that he has appealed to the Sangat of Haryana, especially the Sikh community, to join hands to serve the society through the Haryana Gurdwara Managing Committee.

Responding to a question regarding the formation of the Haryana Gurdwara Managing Committee, Sh. Manohar Lal said that 18 months time was given to the 41-member adhoc committee that was formed earlier.  Now such a provision will be made in the Act that if the committee is not able to work full time due to the orders of the court or any other reason, then the government will have the right to form a new adhoc committee, informed the Chief Minister.

Sh. Manohar Lal said that the tenure of the new adhoc Committee will remain the same as 18 months or till the election process is completed. After the completion of the election process, the adhoc Committee would hand over all its functioning to the new committee, added the Chief Minister.

Responding to another question, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the Sant Mahapurush Vichar Prasar Yojana has been started by the state government to ensure maximum publicity of the teachings of saints and great men.

The birth anniversaries of all the great men including Sant Kabir Das, Guru Ravidas and Babasaheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar and others are being celebrated at the state level.
